When we were Kids

We ran into the sun And It’s glory ran from us We chased it for hours Until the soles of our feet ran red Guided by the noise of the summer morning Our attention drifted else where Sober minded thoughts came like fleeting dreams The innocence of the time became our playground We became a witness to the truth And we carried it with us As kids As Adolescents As Adults

The First Sin

They passionately walked with God

As they journeyed through the Garden

Gleefully gazing upon his creation

But separation lead to the appetite of their fleshy desires

Which caused their righteousness to expire

Deceived by an errant fallen angel

Who witfully played on words

Lead to the first fall of mankind

Now doomed to toll and labor the fruits of the ground

By the sweat of their brows, their punishment was found

Now cast from the Garden of Eden for soon

They will surely die
