When we were Kids

We ran into the sun And It’s glory ran from us We chased it for hours Until the soles of our feet ran red Guided by the noise of the summer morning Our attention drifted else where Sober minded thoughts came like fleeting dreams The innocence of the time became our playground We became a witness to the truth And we carried it with us As kids As Adolescents As Adults

Oh, Israel

Oh Israel, how have thou forsaken God

Who brought you out of bondage from Egypt

The God that commands you to worship no other

The God who is jealous, loving and righteous

But you stiff neck people forget the wonders and signs

And go a-whoring after other gods

The anger of the true God will be kindled against you

While your false gods stand idly by

As your blessings turn into curses

Oh, Israel repent of your sins and come back home

For God is forgiving, merciful, loving, and kind
